TASTING NOTES
Tart nose, light earthy notes, hint of tobacco, black and red berries, cedar notes, light meaty notes. Clear, ripe, juicy fruit on the palate, delicate acid bite, youthful, fairly fine tannins, good substance and persistence, delicate hint of bacon, light spicy notes, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, good to very good, fairly juicy and spicy finish.
ABOUT THE WINE
Barco Reale is a younger version of the Carmignano from Capezzana, as the fruit is sourced from slightly younger vines in the same vineyards. Fermentation lasted seven days in temperature-controlled vats. Maceration took place in stainless steel tanks and lasted for seven days. The wine was matured in 25 hectolitre Allier oak barrels for 12 months before bottling, followed by three months in bottle before release.
