Pearce Predhomme Pinot Noir, Willamette ValleyOregon 2021 (750ml)

TASTING NOTES

Aromas of red plums, black currant, ripe strawberries, spicy, and cedar. The palate is fresh, lively, loads of raspberries and cherries. Fine tannins and a peppery spice on the finish.

Pinot Noir is very versatile to pair. This wine will go well with fish like salmon and is also delicious with duck confit and other roast meats and mushrooms.

ABOUT THE WINE

A wine from a collaboration between Nicholas Pearce and Will Predhomme to create wines from their favourite regions.

While labeled as Willamette Valley, nearly all of the wine from this bottling came from the Dundee Hills AVA. Located 28 miles southwest of Portland, the Dundee Hills AVA encompasses 6,490 acres with geology dating back 15 million years when lava owed from northeast Oregon and pushed into the Willamette Valley, covering all but the
highest hills with up to 1,000 feet of basalt. An ideal climate combined with ancient, complex Jory soil produces wines that show pure fruit, bright acidity, intense depth, and a classic balance.

2021 was a cool and “classic” Willamette Valley vintage. Moderately cool temperatures were the common theme throughout the growing season; extending the start of harvest into late September. Pinot Noir is a varietal that is most expressive when allowed to hang on the vine until the pinnacle of the growing season, and the 2021 vintage allowed the grapes to do just that. Bright and sunny days with cool dry nights were observed the latter half of September and into October giving the grapes the final push to perfect ripeness. This classically Oregon vintage produced wines with delicate nuanced aromas and balanced acidity.
